Observational Remarks - stop whining!

"In the seventy or eighty years, on average, that you can reasonably expect to spend in this mortal coil, the only givens are as follows: (1) you will be forced to do things you don't want to do, (2) you will suffer, and (3) you will die. These 3 things will not change. What can change, what is within your power to change, is extent and degree. You cannot change "what", but you can change "how" and "why". You don't have to be the creature the propaganda machine wants you to be, that while you may be forced to do things, forced into things, expressly against your will, the set of things that : must: be done is far smaller, astonishingly smaller, than you've been told. There is a distinguishment between "can" and "should". Just because it is possible to do (or be) a certain thing - even if you, uniquely, have the ability and opportunity to do (or be) that thing - unequivocally does not mean that you automatically must, nor, more crucially, does it mean you should. Before leaping into the fray eager to demonstrate your facility with whatever arbitrary challenge your hypothetical taskmaster is insisting you meet, ask your self: In the context of my life, as a distinct and independent human being, is this the correct thing to do? Might this be a Pandora's Box in disguise, enticing me to prove my worth in worthless ways?"
