Observational Remarks - "utes"
"As Canada and United States' economics grow ever closer, the two societies' dominant values - especially for people in their 20s - head in the oppoiste directon. Environics found the values of Canada's youngest adults clustered around personal creativity, spontaneity, personal control of their lives and rejection of authority, adaptabiltiy to complexity, ecological concerns, global consciousness, religion a la carte, interest in the mysterious and what Mr. Adams calls "flexible gender identity." However, the values for Americans in their 20s were clustered around financial security, ostentatious consumption, living virtually, more power for business, active government, civic apathy, acceptance of violence, everyday rage, sexual permissiveness, fatalism, sexism and a penchant for risk."
